I downloaded the font, and double-clicked to install it on my Mac. I had a bit of trouble with the website, but after paying for the font, I went back to the website (had to open a new browser window) and found my font waiting to be downloaded.

After a preview, you pay $9.95 for the basic font, and download it from their website. Once you've got a perfect copy, you upload it to their website. From that collection, I used GraphicConverter to cut and paste a perfect copy.

I couldn't get all the characters correct on a single template, so I partially filled out six templates. It took me numerous tries to get it right, but I eventually managed to complete the template. Once you've got a perfectly filled in template, you scan it and save it as a JPG. Then you hand write your version of the characters into this template and it serves as the basis for your personalized font. First you have to download some blank templates. The website walks you through the seven step process in a pretty straight-forward manner. Having my own handwriting as a font sounded too good to be true, so I checked out the website. I love fonts, and I've got plenty of them on my computer. Yes - They actually take your handwriting and transform it into a font for your computer. As it turns out, there is a website that'll do that for you.

Someone on one of the Mac forums I subscribe to was wondering whether anyone knew how to transform their own handwriting into a font. I ran across a forum thread the other day. It's a listing of applications that I find useful in publishing my web pages. Not meant for the professional, It's my hope that home users and hobbyists will find it useful. It's primarily dedicated to web publishing for the Mac user.

I've been singing GC's praises for many years now, and I'm not sure I would do without it. I use it to convert image formats into web standard formats, to create and edit image maps and other graphics. A fantastic piece of shareware that is well worth the price (~$40.00). GraphicConverter is an image converter and editor. I recently saw/downloaded the following updates: 7.6.2 (b416). Thorsten Lemke (of Lemkesoft) completed work on several updates over the past few week. If you need a powerhouse converter, editor and browser for your graphics, grab a copy of GraphicConverter - You won't be disappointed.

All the updates are free for those who own a license (for the most recent version). Here's more than a dozen updates for a product that's always getting better. As usual, developer has been busy updating this application. The only sucky thing is it's a one way sync to PocketPedia so anything you add manually to PocketPedia you'll have to manually add to the desktop app as well.Another batch of beta updates for my favorite Graphics editor. I'm not sure what it's for but it seemed every time I scanned both it came up not found but if I covered it and scanned the main one it worked fine.Ä«ruji also has their free PocketPedia app that you can sync data from the pedia apps to an iPhone or Touch. One piece of advice if you get CDpedia and use the scanning method to enter items is if the UPC has a shorter barcode next to the main barcode don't scan it. I did have to enter a few by hand when it couldn't find the UPC at Amazon but even that was fairly painless and I almost always found the correct match for thew item in question. Worked pretty damned well to scan the UPCs of about 300 CDs/DVDs/Games. I bought one of those USB Cuecat scanners off ebay for like 12 bucks and used that to enter all the data into all the pedias. I also use CDpedia (along with the DVD and Game pedias).
